With the demand of CD duplication and CD replication increasing, many companies have taken CD duplication and CD replication as a full time business. The process of CD duplication or CD replication has nothing to do with the content of the CD. The difference between the process of CD duplication and CD replication relates to the method and process for copying the CD. You can create copies of Audio, Video or data CD through CD duplication or CD replication.

Difference between CD Duplication and CD Replication
CD Duplication is the process of copying Audio, Video or data files from the source onto a CD. The process of copying or duplicating a CD is commonly known as CD burning. In this process, one CD is burnt at a time. CD duplication does not take any start-up time. Once the CD that is to be duplicated is ready, the process of CD duplication can start immediately. The process of duplication is slow and takes much time when compared to CD replication.

CD Replication is a process where the stamper literally presses the information or data from a master disc, into the molded CD. It is done with a special machine known as CD duplicator. In case of CD replication, it is necessary that the Master CD that is used for stamping and creating other CDs is problem free. Any error in the master CD will be copied to the target CD during the process of CD replication. The start-up time for the process of CD replication takes time. However once set, CD replication is a faster process for bulk copying of CDs. The start-up time for CD Replication is about 5-7 business days because you will have to create a glass master and a stamper.

It is therefore for you to decide which process you want to select, as the process selected will depend on Quantity, the period and of course, the additional cost (of CD duplicator).
